Dear Senior Parents, Relative, or Friend

Welcome to your senior’s final year of high school. As we embrace this year with excitement, we hope you will share memories of your senior with his or her class. If you would like to congratulate the Class of 2011 or celebrate your special senior, the Luceat staff invites you to place an advertisement in the all color 2011 edition of the Luceat –
the official yearbook of Bishop Verot Catholic High School.

We offer a variety of ad sizes to accommodate your needs. Layout options and 2010 ad prices are listed below.

Choice A – Full Page, 9 Blocks   $300
Choice B – 6 Blocks                  $200
Choice C – 4 Blocks                   $150
Choice D – 3 Blocks                   $100
Choice E – 2 Blocks                   $60
Choice F – 1 Block                     $40

Once you have determined the size of the ad that you would like to purchase, you need to decide how you would like us to design your ad. The easiest way to do this is to look at past editions of the Luceat, preferably the 2009 & 2010 books. When you see an ad you would like to simulate, specify the page number and the edition of the book you found it in. Please let us know what color background you would like. Include your message to your senior with your order, and also let us know whether or not you would like us to put his/her name on the ad. Please let us know how you want the name spelled, and whether or not you want just the first name or both the first and last names. IF YOU DO NOT SPECIFY A FONT TYPE OR COLOR BACKGROUND, ONE WILL BE CHOSEN FOR YOU.

If you cannot find an ad design you like, please go ahead and sketch an alternative plan for our design staff to follow. Indicate where you would like your senior’s name placed, where you would like the message placed, and where you want certain pictures placed if you have a preference. The easiest way to do this is to number the pictures on the back of the photo, marking the corresponding numbers on your sample layout.

If you would like a professional designer to design your ad, we will need the artwork as a TIFF file for publication. Please enclose a printed copy of what the final artwork should look like so that we can cross check our proofs. It is not necessary to hire a designer if you like the majority of the ads in our current book. We will design one for you.

You should place your order for your ad as soon as possible. Ads are placed on a first come, first serve basis, and we only have a certain amount of space. PLEASE DO NOT ENTRUST US WITH PRICELESS, FAMILY PHOTOS. ONCE THE PHOTOS LEAVE OUR ROOM AND GO TO THE YEARBOOK PLANT, THEY MAY BE INJURED OR DESTROYED. Because so many of the photos are ruined in the process of creating the ads at the yearbook plant, WE WILL NO LONGER BE RETURNING PHOTOS. You can make copies of photos at Walgreens or you can scan the photo and give us the digital file if you like.

We will crop your photos for you. Please do not cut them. We can resize and crop photos to be larger or smaller on the page, depending on where you want them placed. We can crop photos into circle or oval shapes. You should indicate whether or not you want a photo to be cropped into an oval shape by indicating that you have special instructions for certain photos when you turn your photos in, but please do not cut or paste your pictures.

Due to the yearbook publishing company deadlines, your photos, your message, your design, and your $25 deposit are due no later than September 22nd. Please understand, if you do not turn your photos in on time, we will not have enough turn around time to publish your ad!  The September 22nd deadline is extremely important! You may have,
however, until the 1st of February to pay the remainder of your balance.

When we turn in photos, please limit your number of photos to 20 if possible. If you go above 20, you are compromising the quality of the design. We will do our absolute best to make your ad look exactly how you want it. The Luceat, however, is a student production. Though the staff has two advisers, students manage, spell check, and produce the book. Though these students are talented, they are still novice designers and writers. They are not professionals. Profits made from the sale of the book and the ads go to covering the cost of publishing the yearbook. If you have any questions, please contact me at stacey.elmeer@bvhs.org or by phone at 239-274-6707.

If you have not purchased your yearbook, please bring a check to the main office in a sealed envelope with the students name on it.

Thank you so much for the continued support of our school and staff.
