Our Lady of Lareto Aviation Academy

Bishop Verot is proud to launch the Verot Aviation Academy, a unique four-year academic track in partnership with Paragon Flight School, designed for students who dream of taking their education to new heights—literally.
Starting in the 2026–2027 school year, this program offers students the opportunity to explore the world of aviation from the ground up, culminating in the ability to earn their Private Pilot License by graduation—or take the first steps toward a future in air traffic control, aerospace engineering, airport operations, and more.
Program Overview
Years 1 & 2: Foundations of Flight (On Campus)
The first two years of the program are taught on campus during the school day as part of a student’s regular course schedule. Students will explore flight principles, aircraft systems, weather, navigation, and careers in aviation. Hands-on experiences, simulations, and potential field trips (such as an RSW airport tour and visit to the ATC tower) bring the curriculum to life.
- Course credit awarded
- $200 annual program fee (billed through FACTS; covers experiences such as field trips)
- Open to Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors
- Space is limited — a formal application is required for consideration
These foundational courses are ideal for students interested in a variety of aviation careers—not just piloting—including air traffic control, aerospace engineering, airport operations, and more.
Years 3 & 4: Flight Training with Paragon Flight School (Off Campus)
Students in years 3 and 4 transition to real-world flight training with Paragon Flight School, conducted outside of school hours. This phase includes one-on-one instruction, simulator time, and in-air flight training that leads to the opportunity to earn a Private Pilot License.
- Training conducted by FAA-certified instructors
- All expenses for flight training are the responsibility of the family
- Students will receive Verot transcript credit for completed flight hours and coursework
