Dual Enrollment Program

Bishop Verot High School is excited to offer a Dual Enrollment program in partnership with the University of South Florida (USF). This opportunity allows eligible students to experience college-level coursework while still in high school, earning both high school and college credit simultaneously.
Due to the large number of Bishop Verot students who attend colleges and universities within the state of Florida, we are proud to partner with USF. This partnership allows students to begin earning college credits required for graduation while still benefiting from the academic, spiritual, and community-centered environment Bishop Verot offers. Through online coursework, students gain the best of both worlds—remaining fully engaged in campus life while earning credit through a four-year postsecondary institution.
Program Overview
- Dual Enrollment is open to any junior or senior who meets the eligibility requirements set forth by USF (outlined below).
- Students may take up to two Dual Enrollment courses per semester and can earn up to 24 college credits prior to high school graduation.
- All Dual Enrollment courses are offered online through USF.
- Students remain on Bishop Verot’s campus during the school day and are not permitted to leave campus for Dual Enrollment classes.
- To support student success, students enrolled in Dual Enrollment courses may choose a study hall at Bishop Verot, providing dedicated time to complete college coursework.

Registration & Scheduling
Because students cannot register for Fall 2026 Dual Enrollment courses until April, students will register for classes at Bishop Verot for the 2026–2027 school year as usual. Once a student is officially enrolled in a Dual Enrollment course through USF, school counselors will adjust the student’s Bishop Verot schedule as needed.
As this program is new, Bishop Verot will continually evaluate and make adjustments as necessary to best meet the needs of our students and families.
Students interested in Dual Enrollment should complete the Dual Enrollment Interest Form, which will be emailed to rising juniors and seniors.
Academic Credit, Cost, and GPA Weight
- Dual Enrollment courses are free, with textbooks typically included. Some nominal fees may apply.
- These courses carry an additional 1.0 GPA weight.
- For example, an “A” in a Dual Enrollment course earns a 5.0 GPA.
- Dual Enrollment courses become part of a student’s permanent college transcript.
Families are encouraged to carefully consider participation, as performance in Dual Enrollment courses may impact future college admissions decisions, particularly at competitive institutions.
