Skills for College – Values for Life

At Bishop Verot Catholic High School, your child’s success is our priority. Through the Student Services Department, we ensure every student has access to the tools, guidance, and support needed to thrive in high school and beyond. Whether in one-on-one meetings, classroom presentations, or small group sessions, our goal is to make each student’s high school experience meaningful, enjoyable, and geared toward long-term success in college, career, and life.

Our comprehensive four-year plan is supported by Naviance, a leading college and career readiness platform. This program allows us to help students build confidence in their current path and future goals.

Our Core Focus Areas

College Counseling
Our college counselors guide students and families through every step of the college planning and application process. We help students identify schools that fit their academic, social, and personal needs, while also encouraging independence and accountability throughout the journey.

School Counseling
With a strong emphasis on social-emotional learning (SEL), our counselors support students in developing the skills needed to manage life’s challenges, build healthy relationships, and grow in self-awareness. In addition to providing classroom lessons and individual guidance, we also offer resources for students facing mental health concerns. Our team is committed to early intervention, ongoing support, and connecting families with community-based professionals when additional care is needed. By collaborating with parents, teachers, and school leadership, we ensure every student has access to the support they need to thrive.

Academic Advising
Our academic team—including counselors, an Academic Advisor, and a Learning Services Coordinator—works closely with students to ensure they are enrolled in courses that are both rigorous and aligned with graduation and college-readiness goals. We monitor academic progress, guide students in creating and following a four-year plan, and provide support to help them perform at their highest potential.

Learning Services
Rooted in our Catholic mission, the Learning Services Department is dedicated to helping all students—especially those with learning differences—reach their full potential. Through collaboration with parents, teachers, and students, we provide the resources, accommodations, and encouragement needed to foster intellectual, emotional, and spiritual growth.

Life isn't about finding yourself, it's about discovering who God created you to be.
