Naviance

Bishop Verot utilizes a comprehensive college, career, and life readiness technology program called Naviance that helps align student strengths and interests to postsecondary goals, improving student outcomes and connecting learning to life. All students have an account and counselors take students through the various programs in Naviance through classroom visits each year.  Parents can use an Access Code to create an account which allows you to track your student(s) through the various tasks they will be completing.  This is especially important for seniors who are using Naviance to finalize their college lists and request to have transcripts and letters of recommendation sent where needed.  If you are a parent of a student in grades 10-12 and have not created an account yet, email Deanna Breen at deanna.breen@bvhs.org to get started!  Parents of 9th grade students will all be sent an Access Code sometime this fall.  Our Student Services Department will be highlighting the various features of Naviance each month through our school's parent eblast.  Thank you!

Naviance will allow students to:

  • Get involved in the planning and advising process - Build a resume, complete on-line surveys, and manage timelines and deadlines for making decisions about colleges and careers.
  • Research colleges - Compare GPA, standardized test scores, and other statistics to actual historical data from BVHS for students who have applied and been admitted in the past.
  • Research careers – Research hundreds of careers and career clusters, and take career assessments.
  • Sign up for college visits - Find out which colleges are visiting BVHS and sign up to attend those sessions.
  • Search for local & national scholarships - Apply for scholarships posted by BV and search for scholarships using a national database.
  • Create plans for the future – Create goals and to-dos, and complete tasks assigned by the Guidance Department to better prepare for future college and career goals.

Naviance makes it easy to share information about upcoming meetings and events and other Web resources for college and career information. Students can also use the site to send BV counselors and college admission representatives an e-mail message.
