Educational Support

Bishop Verot seeks to assist all students to "Be who they are and to be that well". Students with diagnosed, documented special learning needs may benefit from our Learning Services Program. It is important to understand that Bishop Verot has no special education classes.

The Bishop Verot Catholic High School Learning Services Department intends to fulfill the goal of Catholic Education by helping all children reach their full potential intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually. It provides specific opportunities for students with documented special learning needs to reach their maximum ability. To this end, positive supports are provided through the collaboration of parents, students, and teachers.

Bishop Verot Catholic High School recognizes not all students learn in the same way. In order to help each student reach his or her full potential, Bishop Verot makes every effort to understand and provide for the diversity in learning styles of each of our students. The learning services department, in particular, works with students to help them develop strategies and study skills, assisting them in  becoming self-advocating, independent learners. Through collaborative consultation and teamwork with teachers, students, parents and administrators, the resource teacher works closely to plan, implement, and evaluate educational accommodations. The resulting Learning Support Plan provides additional support for those students who  have documented learning differences.

Learning Services Requirements

Space is limited in the Learning Service Program and requires a written acceptance. To be considered for the program, families must provide a current (within the last 3 years) Psycho-Educational Evaluation Report documenting a learning disability diagnosis. Due to our limited resources, we are unable to accept students with a diagnosis of ADD/ADHD alone.

For more information, please contact the Learning Services Coordinator, Mrs. Karen Ward at karen.ward@bvhs.org
